Matheos is a well-rounded litigator. His education, knowledge and experience focus on complex litigation, alternative dispute resolution and the provision of specialized legal opinions. Prior to co-founding Antoniou & Metaxa LLC, Matheos gained invaluable experience as an associate lawyer of the litigation department of a prominent Limassol law firm. There he successfully handled a significant number of cases in various areas of law, including civil, criminal, property, employment and administrative law. He was also involved in a number of complex and high profile cases. In particular, Matheos has represented individuals, high net worth individuals and some very substantial corporations in cases involving commercial disputes, intellectual property infringement, banking litigation, severe personal injuries and allegations for sexual offences, contempt of Court and white collar crime. Moreover he has acted as the legal advisor of the academic staff association of a public university in Cyprus. This interdisciplinary experience provided him the opportunity to bring the knowledge that he gained from his postgraduate studies into his practice.
As a postgraduate, Matheos studied for the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law (UK) and was classed as ‘Outstanding’ in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He then earned the professional title ‘Barrister at Law’ and became a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, one of the world’s leading professional bodies of judges and lawyers.
Matheos obtained his Bachelor of Laws with Honours from The University of Manchester, graduating amongst the top of his class and receiving the ‘R G Lawson Prize’.
